The growing tension between the United States and Iran has become a serious concern for the entire world. History shows that wars often begin with political disagreements, but the real victims are always ordinary people.
1. India Supports Peace but Not Dominance
From ancient Vedic philosophy, India has promoted harmony among nations. The Upanishad teaches the principle:
“Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam - वसुधैव कुटुम्बकम्” — The whole world is one family.
This philosophy encourages cooperation while maintaining dignity and sovereignty. However, supporting peace does not mean accepting the dominance or pressure of one country over another. True peace requires equality among nations. If global leaders truly want peace, they must begin with serious discussions about global nuclear disarmament. The world still remembers the tragic nuclear attacks on Hiroshima and Nagasaki during World War II, where hundreds of thousands of innocent people lost their lives. Humanity should never repeat such destruction.
2. Nuclear Technology and Self-Defense
After 1966, India strengthened research in nuclear technology mainly for self-defense. India later conducted nuclear tests in Pokhran in 1974 ( nuclear bomb test ) and 1998 (Nuclear Missile Test) to establish a credible deterrent.
International disputes must be resolved through dialogue rather than confrontation. Today, if Iran is developing nuclear capability for defense, the international community should approach the issue with fairness and dialogue. Every nation has the right to protect its sovereignty and security.
3. Inspiration from India’s Spiritual and Revolutionary Leaders
- Swami Dayananda Saraswati – Advocate of Vedic truth
- Swami Vivekananda – Promoter of universal brotherhood
- Sri Aurobindo – Philosopher of spiritual evolution
- Bhagat Singh – Revolutionary symbol of courage and justice
- Subhas Chandra Bose – Defender of national dignity
- Ramakrishna Paramahamsa – Teacher of spiritual harmony
4. Humanity Is One Family
According to Vedic philosophy, God is one and all human beings belong to the same universal family.
When a person dies in war — whether from America, Iran, Israel, or any other country — it is a loss for the entire human civilization.
5. India’s Example of Responsible Power
India possesses strong military and nuclear capability yet it has never used nuclear weapons to attack another country.
India’s doctrine emphasizes responsible use and restraint. Therefore, the global community should work toward one of two commitments: All nuclear-armed countries pledge never to use nuclear weapons against others. Or all nations gradually eliminate nuclear weapons entirely.
6. War Is Not a Solution
War multiplies suffering and instability. Fire cannot extinguish fire — only water can. At this critical time, responsible nations of the world must step forward to encourage dialogue and negotiation. Even the war between Russia and Ukraine—which began with the Russian invasion of Ukraine—has continued for years without a clear resolution. Starting another conflict will only deepen global instability.
7. The Real Enemies of Humanity
- Greed
- Anger
- Hatred
The solutions are:
- Peace
- Cooperation
- Compassion
- Wisdom
